Abstract
Saturation Magnetisation M8 and the variation of the real and imaginary parts ,.,.· and ,.,.. or the initial permeability P.o with frequency in the range of SO Khz to 10 Mbz were determined on toroidal compacts of Ni-Zn ferrites of nominal composition Nio·3Zno·7Fe.o. together with Ti02 in the range of 0-10% wt. Powder ferritisation was done at 900° for S hrs and sintering of compacts were carried out isothermally at 1250°C for S hrs and 20 hrs. Photomicrographs on powders and polished samples showed particle size and grain size range to be 3 and 4-11 microns respectively. The value of magnetisation per gram (u) decreased by about 8.6% at a Ti02 content of 1% wt over the base value of 38.1 gauss-cm1/gm after which it showed an increase. The value of p. increased up to 1 wt% of TiO. after which it fell. The value of ,.,.. indicating loss decreased with increasing TiO. content at the lower peak around 0.8 Mhz but this trend reversed at the second and higher freqency peak exceeding 10 Mbz.
