| Mr. President and friends,
During our last• Annual General Meeting at Bangalore,
Mr. L, R. Bhagat prop lSed that the 16th Annual General
Meeting be held at Calcutta. His proposal was accepted and
the Working Committee was requt::sted to finalise the venue
of the said Meeting at Calcutts along with the Se>sion of the
Indian Science Congress. The Working Committee in its
Meeting of the 27th October 1951 at Calcutta, finally de~ided to
hold the Annual GenerJl M;!eting at CaL:utta and accordingly
we are celebrating the 16th Annual General Meeting in one of
our National Laboratories of Government of India namely
the Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute, through the
kind offices of Dr. Atma Ram, Director of the Institute. We
are indeed very grateful to all the members of the Reception
Committee who have worked very sincerely for the success of
