| Abstract |
| Twelve Indian Standard Specifications on different types of refractories have
been presented in detail and five others on refractory shapes and mortar and testing
methods have been referred to. The use of the different refractories in different
positions of various furnaces in the steel plant has been pointed out. A long list of
the organisations adopting I. S. Specification for their requirements is included. |
