| In the manufacture of pressed porcelain articles
a mixture of kerosin and phenyl is generally added
to the body as a lubricant. The demand for phenyl
for the manufacture of pressed electrical porcelain is
steadily increasing· and it was felt necessary to examine
if any other substance having similar properties can
also be used in its place. Preliminary tests were carried
out with a number of substances namely, linseed
oil, silicate, liquid soap and oliec acid but none of
them except oliec acid B. P. proved satisfactory for
further tests. |
