Abstract
In view of the heavy capital investments and expenditure of foreign exchange involved in importing each of the fully mechanized brick making plants established in the country in recent years, a project was undertaken at the Central Building Research Institute to design and develop indigenously a semi-mechanized brick making machine suitable for making wire-cut bricks from alluvial clays. The machine has been developed primarily to meet the pressing demand for such a machine from the small scale producers of building bricks.
