| It is a common experience that enamelling of cast
iron is very prone to the defect of blistering. An analysis
of the troubles encountered in cast iron enamelling
presented by Murdochl indicates that about 20% of
the problems involved are associated with pin-holes and
blisters. That the cause of these blisters is the prolonged
evolution of gas is quite obvious, but what the enameller
would like to know is what are these gases, how are these
formed, in what amount are these involved and so on.
Some of these aspects were systematically studied•·•
and here the results are presented in brief. |
