Abstract
Irradiated Ag-doped photosensitive glass shows an induced absorption band at 275 nm which apparently belongs to electron or hole-centres. During heat-treatment, the induced band at 275 nm disappears and a band at 410 nm, appears. This band is attributed due to absorption by very fine colloidal particles through the coagulation of silver atoms, and then growth associated with the phase separation process taking place in the glass.
