Abstract
Sintering of two glasses (i) CaO 23.0%, AI20 3 15.0% and Si02
62.0% and (ii) CaO 52.0%, Al20 3 41.5% and Si02 6.5% with
eutectic temperatures 1170° and 1335°C respectively has been carried
out at 700°, 800°, 850° and 900°C. Effect of temperature and composition
on the viscosity of glasses has been studied. Variations in
viscosity with rise in temperature were different for the two glasses.
Although the eutectic temperature or the former glass is lower. it gave
higher viscosity values at the sintering temperatures.
