Abstract
The emerging application-related research in nanosize titanium oxide has been reviewed. Non-conventional application areas such as catalysis, photocatalysis, functional nanocoatings and development of structural surface coatings are covered with special emphasis on the research possibilities for future. Applications of nanoporous titania ceramic membranes, an area being increasingly investigated, are mentioned. The article reviews the important scientific developments in the area of nanotitania powders and coatings for functional applications.
