| Zeolite 4A-modified MgAl2O4
/CuFe2O4
magnetic ceramic nanocomposite was utilized
as an efficient adsorbent to eliminate methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solutions.
The influence of zeolite 4A weight percentage (from 5 to 50 wt%) was investigated
on the MB removal efficiency. To determine the characterization of specimens,
several analyses including Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), Barrett-Joyner-Halenda
(BJH), field emission scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray, Fourier
transform infrared, X-ray diffraction and vibrating sample magnetometer were
performed. The optimal conditions for the adsorption of MB dye were recognized
as 45oC temperature, 0.2 g adsorbent dosage, 30 mg/L initial MB concentration, 25
min contact time and pH of 11. The maximum adsorption capacity and removal
efficiency on the nanocomposite were 29.32 mg/g and 99.8%, respectively. |
