Abstract
N eph1dine sye11ites hmJe been fO!md to occ•tr at many places
in In~lirt. The roclcs o{ the felspathoidal group, when rich in fel·
sic constitmnts like al!Mtli fclspars and nepholit~e can be used in
a variety oj industries. On accow1t of ]!hysical antl chemical
properties of nepheliJlC the roc1c~ rich in this miner1tl can be
used in the mam~factnre of gl,tss and c.;ramics Besides these
]Jrincipal uses, finely growul nepheline can be ?tsed in heavy
clay industries and as a mild z;olislting rmd grinding material.
The neJ'heline syenites th1rt contain considerable amount of
apatite may be ?tsecl a.~ ?Utt?trrcl phosphatic mrcmtre. •
